If they were reasonably convinced (in technical terms, probability of it being SPAM is 90% and above), they would put it in a Quarantine.

Now, quarantine is like a separate folder in your Email box. If you had used one of the free Email services like Yahoo! or Hot mail, Quarantine will be equivalent to your "Bulk Email" folder. Ideally, all SPAM's should end up in Quarantine and all genuine emails in your INBOX. But, as mentioned earlier, SPAM identification is difficult at best (impossible at worst).

This means that occasionally you may find genuine emails in your Quarantine. (Technically these are referred to as "False positives"). You may also find some SPAM in Inbox (Technically referred to as "SPAM misses").

Your organization implements one of the above Anti SPAM solution. You see better results. When you come in the morning, you find not so many emails in your Inbox. You could quickly go through official emails and start your work. This is the solution you want. This is pure Email bliss!

Well, so you thought, at least until the first time the email from your client landed in Quarantine. Since you never check the quarantine, you again missed the information of meeting being advanced and end up missing the meeting! Back to square one!

You start going through Inbox as well as your Quarantine daily. It is just that you can scan quicker than before as you have two different folders. You still have to scan a whole bunch of emails to make sure you did not miss out on important communication.

And the worse part is that you are told the Anti SPAM solution costs as much as hiring multiple secretaries (who can sift through your emails to delete SPAM).

Say client sent this email the previous day. A bounce message like the one above, would have been received (by the client) within 10 minutes of his sending the email. Client now notices that the email has not reached you (this itself avoids a lot of misunderstanding) and the bounce message says something about SPAM.

Client goes to the site given in bounce message, enters all the details given, including the SPAM key. This white lists the rejected communication. Now, client resends the email and it reaches you fine.

Next morning the email is there in your Inbox and you go to the meeting at correct time.

Let us be a little pessimistic and say that client went off home immediately after sending an email to you and thus does not see the bounce message. Next day when he is in office, preparing for the meeting,

He notices the bounce message,
Realizes that you are not informed of the change in timing,
And either informs you by other means (say phone) if that gives you enough notice,
And if enough notice is not possible, postpones the meeting (without you having to do anything).

Contrast this with the situation where you missed the meeting because it was in Quarantine and client thinks that the email has been delivered to you!

Generate back-links. Back-links are your way of demonstrating to Google that your website is considered interesting by other web users. A lot of back-links tells Google that your site is not only considered interesting but it is also considered authoritative. If you've followed step 2 and crammed your site with great content, you'll find that people will link to your site without having to be asked. But you can't rely on this. So, off you go out into the virtual world to generate interest. Find blogs and forums related to your field. Subscribe, sign-up, do whatever you can to take part in the conversation. But remember, you're not just there to drop sneaky little links onto other people's sites. You're there to demonstrate your knowledge, experience and expertise: this will drive people toward your business. If you comment on a forum, make sure it practically reeks of authority. Make sure it's useful and enlightening. Then, and only then, will people consider clicking on your sneaky little link.

Once you start receiving traffic, make the most of it. Create an opt-in. Make something available (an information sheet, a newsletter, an eBook) and give it away in exchange for a name and an email address. Without this you'll only ever benefit from one-time purchasers, and whilst this isn't exactly bad for business, just think of how many sales you'll be able to generate when you've got a mailing list of thousands to leverage. The internet is awash with pithy little sayings, most of them nonsense. Two, however, are categorically true: 'content is king' and 'the money is in the list'.

Don't rest on your laurels. Use the likes of Google Analytics to find out where your traffic is coming from and what they're doing when they land on your website. Identify what you're doing right and do more of it. Identify what you're doing wrong and either change it, do less of it, or eliminate it entirely.

If you follow the advice above, you will grow your online business. Not overnight, but a lot quicker than you might imagine. Anything else is snake oil. Caveat emptor.

How to Clean a Printer

How do I clean the printer,,,, it was a very easy thing .....

Does your printer have frequent paper jams? Does it put ink where ink shouldn't be? Is the outside of your printer dirty or covered with smudges? If so, it is time to clean your printer.

First, there are some general rules that apply to cleaning just about any electrical device. It is best to turn off the printer before cleaning it. Do not spray water or cleaner on or in the printer. Instead wet the rag with it and clean the printer with the rag.

Different types of printers require different cleaning methods. So if you can get your hands on cleaning instructions for your make and model of printer, do so and follow them. Unfortunately, many manufacturers only make that kind of information available to their licensed technicians. In that case, you are stuck with these instructions, so read on.

Open up your printer and take a look.

If you have an ink jet printer and there is an ink mess inside, clean it up with wet paper towels.

If you have a printer that uses toner either vacuum or blow it out. Some toner, especially color toner, can be harmful to you, so only use a vacuum with a micro-toner filter or blow and run. Figure out where the drum is (it is shiny and larger in diameter than the rollers) and do not touch or scratch it. If you do, the scratches will turn up as marks on every paper that you print and will require that you replace the drum (not a cheap option) to fix it.

Examine the path that the paper takes through the printer. Clean all of the rollers (but on a toner printer, not the drum or rollers near the drum and watch out for the rollers after the drum because they may be hot). It may take some disassembly and/or contorting of your arm to get to some of the rollers. Access is not always easy. The most important rollers to clean are the ones which pick up the paper from the paper bin and transfer it into the printer. If these rollers are dirty or bad, they will cause consistent paper jams.

The rollers are made of either hard plastic or rubber. All of the rollers can be cleaned with water or rubbing alcohol. If the rubber rollers have deposits that you can't get off, you can use harsher cleaners but be careful because those cleaners can damage the plastic rollers and parts.

To clean a roller, wipe across the roller with a wet rag, rotate the roller, and wipe again. Do this until you have worked your way all the way around the roller. Look at the rag. If it has been blackened by the roller, move to a clean part of the rag and clean the roller again.

Once everything is clean on the inside, close it up and clean the outside. Wipe off the case and each of the buttons or knobs. If there are staples or paper clips sitting on it or wedged in the cracks, remove them and throw them away.

Other areas of the printer can be cleaned but to do so, you will have to either get training and special tools or leave it to a trained professional.

And with Wiki gaining more and more popularity, it is only matter of time that personal Wiki pages about the users become the new FaceBook or MySpace in which it will officially dominate the internet.
